
We are excited about our annual Mexican Independence Day Celebration, a fun-filled event for the entire family! We would like to extend an invitation to you and/or your organization to participate in this year’s parade, which is keeps growing and growing!
We believe your presence and participation will assist us in educating Minnesotans about the Latino community. The parade kicks off a full-day of diverse and family-friendly events.
Line up begins at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 12th, at Bloomington Ave. & Lake St. in the parking lot of Bloomington Lake Clinic. The parade will begin at 1:00 p.m. and runs from Lake St. to 3rd Ave. Nearly 50 groups of participants, including dancers, musicians, and vehicles, are expected to participate, so don't miss out! Fill out the Online Parade Application and email it to us or download and print the Parade Application and mail it back to our office (Urban Ventures/GoLatino!, 3041 4th Ave. South, Minneapolis, MN 55408). If you are planning to build a float, feel free to download this How to Build a Parade Float Guide for helpful tips. Do not forget to add your $50.00 cleaning deposit.
All entrants are eligible to win a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place plaque for “Best of Show”, which will be judged by a panel of representatives from our major sponsors, including Best Buy, State Farm Insurance, Lake Street Council, Urban Ventures and the Minnesota Twins.
