Mexican Flag History

The Flag of Mexico an introduction:
The present day Mexican flag was adopted on the 8th of February 1984. This flag replaced one that had been used since the 7th of October 1821. This first flag underwent a number of alterations and modifications during its lifespan. Mexico had on the 16th of September 1810 attained its independence from Spain.

Flag Description and Meaning:
The Mexican flag features three bands of equal width green white and red respectively running vertically. At the middle of the flag on the white strip is the Countrys Coat of Arms. According to former Mexican President Benito Juarez the green color represents hope white represents purity and red is for the blood of all who have fought for Mexico.
